No, not THAT kind of anniversary. XP

This is only half of my gift for Sonic's b-day/anniversary. The other half is a fanfic (from which this scene was taken) that I'm still trying to finish up. I hope to get it done before the day ends, but I make no guarantees...

This pic is... something amazing for me, really. It's the most complete pic I've ever made. Its the first time I've made a background completely from scratch, first time I've attempted nighttime shading, first time I've ever drawn characters in semi-original poses. And quite frankly I am astounded at how well it turned out. My scanner washed out the color again, but I tried to do my best by fiddling with it in an art program (can't remember whether it was Serif or GIMP). But believe me, the original looks a whole lot better than this. ^_^;

I'm generally pleased with the way Sonic and the Chao turned out, though his legs look a bit weird. Elise... not so much. I suck at humans, I really do. x.X But all things considered, I guess she doesn't look too terrible...

I put a lot of effort into this, largely because I wanted to do something to commemorate 15 years of our beloved blue hedgehog. And so I dedicate this, possibly my finest piece of Sonic fanart, to Sonic the Hedgehog, his creators, and all the fans who have supported him all these years. May Sonic prosper for another 15! ^_^
